Alu Bhaja

Alu Bhaja is a recipe for fried  slices of potatoes...It is a childhood favorite recipe of mine..U can have it as a side dish with rice/pakhal/roti/chapati/paratha

Ingredients :-


Potato - 1 big
Onion - 1 small
Dry red chilli - 1
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Roasted cumin + chilli powder - 1 tsp
Pancha phutana - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil

Method :-


  1. Wash, peel and cut the potato in to thin and even slices..
  2. Cut the onion in to thin slices too.
  3. Heat oil in a pan/kadhai and add pancha phutana.
  4. When it started crackling, add dry red chilli by cutting in to 2 pieces.
  5. Add onion and potato slices with salt and turmeric powder.
  6. Cover the lid and let it cook for 2 min.
  7. Open the lid and stir fry the slices till cooked in medium to slow flame for another 5 min.
  8. Add roasted cumin+chilli powder to the above and mix properly.
  9. Let it cook for 1 min more and switch off the flame.
  10. Relish the hot fry/bhaja of potato/alu with rice/pakhal/roti/chapati/paratha.
