KFC Style Fried Chicken

KFC - The Name says it all...No one can resist the hunger after seeing hot, crispy and spicy fried chickens...:-)

I always used to think about the recipe, and after searching many sites, i decided to make it on my own idea..First time, when i made, it dint give a good result, though taste was fine, those r not crispy enough like KFC..Hubby dear said not to lose hope and suggested for trying it again...and this time its like miracle..the taste, the crispiness, everything is so similar..we loved it a lot...For all the KFC lovers, i am sharing my ideas..Hope it'll satisfy ur cravings..:-)

Ingredients :-


Chicken(Wash and Cut in to large pieces with skin and bone) - 1 Kg
U can use only leg pieces if u want...:-)
Ajinomoto - 1 1/2 tsp
Soy Sauce - 1 tsp
Black Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
Chilli Sauce - 2tbsp
Cornflour - 2tbsp
Sugar - 1/2 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp


All purpose flour/maida - 8 tsp
Cornflour - 2 tbsp
Egg - 2 (beaten)
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
White pepper powder - 1 tsp
Chilli sauce - 1 tbsp
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Ajinomoto - 1 tsp
Chilled water as required


Cornflakes - 1 cup
Potato chips - 1 cup
Breadcrumbs - 1 cup

Soybean Oil for frying

Method :-

Take a bowl and add all the ingredients written under marinate, mix them properly and marinate overnight .
Mix all the ingredients written for batter by adding required amount of chilled water to produce a thick batter.
Grind the ingredients written for coating to get a crumble mixture.

Steam the marinated chicken for 10 minutes.
Dip each piece in prepared batter, coat well in the crumble mixture and deep fry them.
When half done put out from oil and keep on paper towel.
For gaining the thick coating, dip the half done pieces in batter and then coat them in the crumble mixture and deep fry them again. Repeat the process for each piece.

Sauce - Take a bowl and mix in tomato ketchup, chilli sauce, 1 tsp red chilli powder and salt to taste..

Enjoy the hot and spicy fried chicken with the above sauce...:-)
