Crunchy Dal Fries

This recipe is a healthy yet mouth watering recipe for evening snacks..I read this recipe from a book given by my neighbor, and could not wait to prepare this one immediately....Hope you'll like it and enjoy like me....:-)


Ingredients :-

  • Moong Dal - 1 bowl
  • Besan - 4 tbsp
  • Grated Carrot - 100 gm
  • Boiled Pees - 100 gm
  • Grated French Beans - 100 gm
  • Baking Soda - 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice - 1 lemon
  • Grated Ginger - 1/2''
  • Green Chilli - 2, chopped finely
  • Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves - 1 tbsp
  • Chat Masala - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil


Method :-

  1. Wash the dal and soak with enough water for 1 hr.
  2. Afte 1 hr drain the water and grind the dal to a coarse paste by adding lil water.
  3. Take a big bowl and mix the dal paste with besan and the vegetables.
  4. Add coriander leaves and mix properly.
  5. Grease dhokla plate with oil.
  6. Mix salt, soda, lemon juice with the dal paste.
  7. Pour the paste in to the dhokla plate and steam for 10 min.
  8. After cooling cut them like dhokla and deep fry in the oil.
  9. Sprinkle chat masala and serve hot with your choice of sauce or chutney....
  10. You can also have it without frying...it tastes awesome either ways....have it and enjoy..:-)
