Apple and Almond Halwa

This is my Puja special recipe for all my friends...A halwa with apple and almonds gives extra special taste and health wise also its very good..In my previous post i described how to make almond meal at home, so you can follow that post and make some almond meal, then proceed with this post to make the delicious apple and almond halwa...My family loves this halwa a lot......You also enjoy this puja with this yummy and healthy sweet as it is a best way to eat healthy and stay healthy.....:-)

Servings :- 4

Ingredients :-

  • Apple - 4, washed, peeled and grated
  • Almond meal - 1 cup
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Sugar - 3/4 cup
  • Salt  - A pinch
  • Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp
  • Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk -1 cup
  • Few Raisins and Pistachio - Chopped

Method :-

  1. Heat ghee in a nonstick pan and add grated apple with salt and cook for 3-5 minute till the texture will change.
  2. Add almond meal and stir for 3-5 minutes. 
  3. Then add sugar, raisins, pistachio and condensed milk.
  4. Cook for about 12-15 minutes on low heat stirring in between. 
  5. Now add cardamom and cinnamon powder and cook again for 10 minutes more till the mixture starts to come together and leave sides of the pan.
  6. Garnish with chopped pistachio and serve hot or refrigerate it to serve cold..I like it both ways...enjoy...:-)

* Note :-

  • You can also blanch and peel the almonds and make a paste to use in this recipe.
  • The addition of sugar varies according to your taste, i like it more sweet, so added 3/4 cup, you can use less or more depending upon your choice.
  • You can also use refined oil in place of ghee, but taste will differ in that way.
  • Always cook this halwa on low-medium heat by stirring in between.
