Chocolaty Carrot Kheer

Chocolaty carrot kheer  is a very healthy creamy and yummy recipe. It has the goodness of carrot while chocolates add a very delicious taste to the kheer. I added condensed milk to get a more creamy texture and for the chocolates, i used cadbury dairy milk(Rs10 each) as this is my all time favorite chocolate..You can use coco powder in place of chocolates..The kheer is a big hit at my home and i want it to be a sure hit at ur homes too, so try it and enjoy in this Diwali...:-)

Ingredients :-
  1. Cadbury dairy milk chocolate - 10
  2. Carrot, grated - 1 cup
  3. Full cream Milk - 2 cups
  4. Condensed milk - 2 tbsp
  5. Sugar - 1/4 cup
  6. Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp
  7. Cashews, broken - 1 tbsp
  8. Raisins - 1 tbsp
  9. Almonds, chopped - 1 tbsp
  10. Carrots, grated - 1 tbsp
  11. Ghee - 2 tbsp
Method :-
  • Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan and fry cashews, raisins until golden. Remove and keep aside.
  • Add remaining ghee to the same pan and cook carrots by stirring continuously in a low flame until slightly cooked. It'll take 5-6 minutes.
  • Then add the milk, cover and cook in low flame until carrots are cooked through. It'll take 12-15 minutes.

  • In the mean time melt the dairy milk chocolates using a double boiler method i.e; boil water in a saucepan and place a clean bowl on top of it. Make sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water and it sits perfectly over the saucepan.
  • Once the chocolate melts, take it off the stove and mix these melted chocolates to the kheer and stir it.
  • Sometimes by adding melted chocolate, milk gets curdled, so add little by little and stir continuously.
  • Now add sugar and condensed milk to the kheer and cook in low flame until it starts to thicken a bit.
  • Finally add cardamom powder, cashews and raisins.Mix well and switch off the flame.
  • Garnish whith carrot and almonds.
  • This can be served hot but i like it best after cooling it in a refrigerator....enjoy...:-)
