Mudhi Muan

Mudhi Muan is a traditional odia sweet and a childhood favorite of mine..So I am sharing these yummy mudhi muan with u all and wishing u all a very happy and prosperous new year...:-)

My grandma used to make these yumm balls or laddoos for us and we just could not able to stop ourselves from eating...This is a very delicious crunchy sweet and all time favorite of everyone....Mudhi or puffed rice and jaggery  are the two main ingredient in this recipe...My grandma also used to add roasted peanuts and sliced coconuts while making mudhi muan...This is a simple recipe where u can get super yumm food very easily...so here it goes...:-)

Ingredients :-
  • Mudhi/Puffed rice - 2 1/2 cup
  • Gud/Jaggery - 4 cup

Method :-
  • In low flame heat a heavy bottomed pan/kadhai and add jaggery to it.
  • Cook by stirring continuously till it reaches boiling point.
  • Now slowly add puffed rice to the kadhai and coat them properly with jaggery.
  • Remove from fire and keep aside for 1-2 min.
  • Grease your palm with oil, take a spoon of the above mixture and prepare laddoo/muan.
  • Prepare all the muan in the same process, cool them and store in air tight containers.
  • You can keep them u to 15-20 days...No need to refrigerate.
  • Serve as snack or sweets anytime and enjoy the excellent taste...:-)
Notes :-
  • Just keep it in mind and do not overcook the jaggery, else you wont be able to bind it to make muan.
  • You must cook the jaggery in low flame.
